As the dawn of the New Year approaches, Hugh Hefner has one resolution for 2012 - to remain single.
"This year has been a very interesting year for me, I almost got married," Hef told People magazine. "And as Holly [Madison] - a dear friend and former girlfriend - said, 'Well, you missed a bullet.'
"I think that's accurate," he added.
The 85-year-old Playboy magnate said the devastating events of 2011 (former fiancee Crystal Harris, then 25, called off their impending marriage less than one week prior to their wedding in June), made him realize being a husband simply isn't in the cards for his future.
"I am clearly not meant to be married," he told the mag. "Married life isn't for me."
While the bachelor is happily dating "two very special ladies" - Shera Berchard and Anna Berglund - Hef said walking down the aisle with anyone in 2012 is out of the question, adding that as long as he doesn't take a bride next year, he'll be "on top of my game."
