The ex-boyfriend of Mariah Yeater has claimed she's lied about teen pop sensationJustin Bieber being her baby's father.
Robert Powell has insisted that Yeater's son Tristyn is his and that she has conjured up a story about JB being the child's dad to make money.
Justin, who is loved up with Disney starletSelena Gomez, has vehemently denied Mariah's accusations - even taking a paternity test to prove Tristyn is nothing to do with him.
Now, Powell has revealed that the 20-year old mum picked Justin as the celebrity to specifically pinpoint in order to pocket the most cash by selling her story about a fake backstage romp to the press.
Robert admitted to Rumour Fix: "She lied. We were both homeless and living in Oceanside [California] and Mariah was trying to make some quick money,"
Revealing that Yeater made $50,000 (£32,300) from an exclusive magazine deal, Powell continued: "She just picked him, because she thought he was famous and all and thought she could get a lot of money by telling the magazine Justin was the father. She just saw him as an opportunity to make a lot of money."
Powell, who is currently in prison for burglary and drug charges, went on to claim that despite making up the false accusations, Yeater was only trying to do what's best for their son.
He explained: "She said she was doing it for us... for our family and son. She made it seem like it was all for us but she's greedy.
"I don't know, I still love her though. All I want is to be with my son, that's all I care about. She can take all her money, I just want my son.
Powell concluded: "And man, on the real, I feel sorry for Justin Bieber. He's just a little kid man. He don't need to be going through all this drama. He got a career and s**t to focus on. I feel sorry for the dude."
