The 26-year-old actress wowed the crowd as she stepped out onto the red carpet tonight showing off her figure in a sheer cutout LBD, flashing plenty of flesh.
The dramatic dress by Prabal Gurung ensured all eyes were focused firmly on Rooney as she made her way to the New York premiere of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

While most of the dress was made in sheer lace the actress had her modesty covered by black material and adding a colour flash with bright red lips.

Rooney looks a far cry from her character in the chilling thriller and the actress has revealed she had several piercings in real life for the role.
Not only did Mara dye and cut her hair and have her eyebrows bleached, she also had her ears pierced several times, along with her lip, nose and the nipple piercing.
In an interview with Allure magazine, the 25-year-old explains that she went through with the painful ordeal to really embody the role of computer-hacker, and often naked, Lisabeth Sander.
'I’m naked quite a lot in the movie, and I thought, she has it in the book, and she should have it [in the movie],' she told the publication.

'Because of all the tattoos and the makeup and the piercings, and the physical transformations my body has to go through, it would always feel sort of like I was in costume, even if I was naked.

'Nudity is such a huge part of the character in the book, so I never thought twice about it. There was no time for hesitation. I didn’t have time to second-guess anything or be scared; I just showed up and was comfortable,' she explained.
The carefree actress also said that she wasn't worried about lopping off her long locks, nor wearing a more masculine wardrobe, which she says has now translated into her own current style .
'People always ask, "Were you crying when they cut your hair?’ And it didn’t freak me out at all. I was really happy to do it,' she said.

While Rooney has been opening up about her physical transformation her co-star Daniel Craig has been discussing their adaptation of the Stieg Larsson novel and told parents the film is not suitable for children.
Craig, who plays an investigative journalist who finds himself on the trail of a vicious serial killer in the film, said in an interview with BBC Breakfast that the close-to-the-mark scenes in the film were true to the themes of violence against women in Larsson's novel.
He explained: 'It is addressing a huge issue that serial killers on the whole are male and they kill women. It is an adult movie.
'This is one where you pay the babysitter - babysitters are going to make a lot of money out of this, I hope. Don't take the kids!'

Craig's interview came after he revealed at the premiere of the movie in London last night that he had enjoyed piling on the pounds for his new role.
The 43-year-old actor - who works out regularly to maintain his toned physique - admitted he didn't mind skipping the gym to play journalist Mikael Blomkvist in David Fincher's Hollywood remake of the Swedish-language thriller.
He said: 'It was very easy actually. I just wanted to look as normal as I possibly could so I just relaxed my exercise, and ate and drank what I wanted to.'

Craig was joined at the premiere of the film at Leicester Square by his co-star Rooney Mara, 26,who was a vision in white as she braved the bitter cold in a lace creation by Givenchy Couture and matching Brian Attwood heels.
The film is a remake of the 2009 Swedish adaptation of the award-winning, critically acclaimed Millennium books trilogy.
The original starred Michael Nyqvist, who plays Blomkvist, and Noomi Rapace, as Salander, and was made into a trilogy and all three films were released within nine months.

The film also stars Christopher Plummer as Henrik Vanger, Robin Wright as Erika Berger and Goran Visnjic as Armansky, but none of them were at the screening.
In keeping with the novel, the original is quite a dark and violent film and Fincher said he wasn't planning the softly-softly Hollywood approach for his version, which has been rated 18 in the UK and R in the U.S.
It is released in the U.S. on December 21 and in the UK on Boxing Day.
